Greg Vester was a high school senior and starting linebacker who worked at Ted Brunner’s farm. Working to empty a silo of soybean, a task he’d done before, he ended up in the silo, crushed under the weight of the beans. Brunner claims it was an accident—they happen on farm. Detective Friday Hampton has heard and seen enough to know that Greg Vester’s death was not a tragic accident but murder. She needs our help to separate the beans from the hull. Here are her suspects in the order that we’ve met them:
- Ted Brunner, farm owner and family patriarch
- Marty Brunner, eldest son, the nice one
- Little Jimmy Brunner, youngest son, the one who found the body
- Carolyn Brunner, the daughter who was dumped by Greg
