Frank primarily writes gritty crime fiction from both sides of the badge. Frank served in the U.S. Army in Military Intelligence as a Czechoslovak linguist. He later became a police officer in Spokane, WA working as a patrol officer, corporal, and detective before entering into leadership roles. Frank retired from law enforcement as a captain in order to write full time and to teach.

Jim Winter is the author of the Holland Bay series and the Nick Kepler novels. Jim is the crime fiction persona of science fiction author TS Hottle. As TS, he writes the Compact Universe series and the Suicide Arc. Additionally, he is a freelance editor who does work for Down & Out Books.

Ed Teja is a lifelong storyteller, as well as a former Caribbean boat bum, blues musician, martial artist, and magazine editor. His stories blend thrillers, crime, and speculative fiction with strange situations and people often come from his somewhat surreal life.

Bonnar Spring is a nomad at heart who hitchhiked across Europe at sixteen and joined the Peace Corps after college. She teaches ESL at a community college and would do it for free, but is grateful they pay her—and long school vacations mean leisurely travels.

KM Rockwood creates her novels and short stories drawing on her diverse experience working as a laborer in a steel fabrication plant, operating fiberglass manufacturing equipment, supervising an inmate work crew, teaching special education in an alternative high school and working as a GED teacher in county detention facilities.

Rick Ollerman is the author of four novels, Turnabout, Shallow Secrets, Truth Always Kills and Mad Dog Barked as well as the non-fiction collection Hardboiled, Noir and Gold Medals. He was also the editor of Down & Out: The Magazine and has written numerous short stories and edited several crime fiction anthologies.

ERICA OBEY
Erica Obey is the Past President of the MWA-NY chapter, and a frequent reviewer and judge. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature and published academic work on female folklorists before she decided she’d rather be writing the stories herself. Judi Lynn, the pen name of Judy Post, was a prolific writer Romance and Cozy Mystery writer and Romances and Cozy Mysteries. Judy was an elementary school teacher and an author. She was also a lifelong member of Scribes, her beloved “writer’s club”. Judy was also an excellent cook who generously showed her love through food. Judy passed away in November 2024. We are honored that she wrote for Mysteriers to Die For. Her stories continue to be available through Amazon
