Clint leads a nightshift team at United Fiberglass Manufacturing. He’s got a solid crew and life would be solid if not for the under qualified, over confident Bryson who was recently promoted to foreman. Now, even the simplest problems are hard to solve – like an illegible quantity on a work order. It’s not just Clint who has a beef with Bryson. Hank was overlooked for the SOB. Margie sexually harassed. And Julio threatened with Immigration. Then Bryson goes missing, only to be found dead by Clint.

Clint is paid to make fiberglass, not solve mysteries, but he’s in the middle of this one. He’s relying on us and Detective Conrad to get him back into safe harbor. Here is a list of the people working Clint’s shift in the order we met them:

  • Hank, not quite a boss
  • Margie, the hot end tech
  • Gonzo, the forklift operator
  • Julio, the dispatcher

Meet KM ROCKWOOD

KM Rockwood draws on a varied background for stories, among them working as a laborer in a steel fabrication plant, operating glass melters and related equipment in a fiberglass manufacturing facility, and supervising an inmate work crew in a large medium security state prison. These jobs, as well as work as a special education teacher in an alternative high school and a GED teacher in county detention facilities, provide most of the background for novels and short stories.

One response to “S9E3: Occupational Hazard”

  1. Hey, I caught the mention of my pickle ball story! I also worked in a factory, a Farmall tractor factory, and I appreciated all the lingo. We had a forklift driver who liked to pin pretty women against the wall and ask the out. Funny, none of them went out with him.
